What could be holding your sales back?

I have had an Esty shop myself selling stock photography. I know the trauma caused by getting the listings right. Trying to tag all your products with all the possible search terms.

Being a maker or crafter is a very personal business. Your heart and sole is poured into making your handcrafted items. Your Etsy shop is open for business. 15 -20 listings of all your makes, you have tagged the shit out of them! Written the perfect description, hit the ‘list item’ button and now you wait. Wait some more, and some more. A couple of sales have come through, but nothing steady. Just what is the problem?

A recent survey by Etsy asked its customers what was the most important factors that influenced them when making a sale? More important than postage costs, reviews from the store or even the price? Over 90% of customers Etsy asked were influenced most by the quality of photography from the seller.

If your images are dark, out of focus or a bit scrappy and cluttered. You might actually be putting your potential customers off from completing that sale with you. Clear, uncluttered and strong imagery is so important to help with your success. Running a small business is hard, you wear many hats; maker, designer, accountant the list is literally endless.

Outsourcing your photography could be one of the best and possible most exciting things you will ever do for your business! Pack up and send your products off and a short time later receive back (all your products) and beautiful gorgeous product photography. Ready to go on your Etsy shop, Instagram, website. Job Done. Now go and tick that off your list, sit back with a big smile on your face that another stress has been taken off your shoulders!
